Product Overview


Corrosion of protected and unprotected metallic materials is influenced by many environmental factors, which mainly depend on the type of metallic material and the type of environment. It is impossible to design a laboratory accelerated corrosion test chamber that includes all environmental factors that affect corrosion resistance. Therefore, the laboratory test is designed by simulating the factors that play a major role in the corrosion of metallic materials. This equipment is designed to simulate and increase the effects of the environment on metallic materials exposed to an outdoor atmosphere that is contaminated with salt and can accelerate corrosion. The equipment includes a test method for cyclically exposing the sample to salt spray, dry, hot and humid environments. This equipment test is a comparative test, and the test results cannot predict the long-term results of the corrosion resistance of the same metal material used under this environmental condition. However, this method can still provide valuable information on the relative performance of materials exposed to salt pollution like the test conditions. Compared with traditional accelerated corrosion tests, such as neutral salt spray test (NSS), acetic acid salt spray test (AASS), and copper accelerated acetic acid salt spray test (CASS), the biggest advantage of this equipment test is that it can better Reproduces corrosion that occurs outdoors in salt-contaminated environments.

Test conditions

A. Commonly used alternating salt spray test conditions: ambient temperature of 35°C, saturated barrel temperature of 47°C, spray test time of 5% salt water concentration from 1min to 999h can be set arbitrarily, and then in the damp heat test at a temperature of 40°C±2°C, relative humidity 93%RH±3%RH, the test time can be set arbitrarily from 1min to 999h; the cycle can be set arbitrarily from 1 to 999 times. Then, let it stand for 1min to 999h under standard environmental conditions with a temperature of 23°C±2°C and a relative humidity of 50%RH±5%RH, which can be set arbitrarily.

B. Dry and wet compound salt spray test conditions: at an ambient temperature of 35°C, a saturated barrel temperature of 47°C, and a spray test time of 5% salt water concentration from 1min to 999h, which can be set arbitrarily; dry under the condition that the relative humidity is equal to or lower than 30%RH For the test, the test time can be set arbitrarily from 1min to 999h; in the humid and hot environment with a relative humidity greater than 95%RH, the test time can be set arbitrarily from 1min to 999h; then return to the first step of the salt spray test; the cycle can be set arbitrarily from 1 to 999 times.
